Late August I went to Berlin, by train, accompanied by a multitude of dinosaurs.
I had the opportunity to put my dinosaurs in Berlin, at Kanapé Studio, Neuköln. Having an exposition space, which felt like the showroom of a store, I felt the urge to blow up the proportions of the illustrations in order to get the viewers attention.
The shopwindow inspired me to think of a new composition. I tried to see the space as a fragment of time. A sci-fi time capsule in which the final moment of the age of dinosaurs was captured.
It evolved into a goofy composition with apocalyptic fires and comets flying around. And the dinosaurs, just minding their own business. In a way this resonated of how we, as mankind, seem to look after our own existence on a deteriorating earth.
