'Tragedy of a lost past' is a surreal image based on my memory of the many holidays I had with my family in France. Going to the so called 'Hypermarché', my little brother and I used to go straight to the fish stands. We looked for the aquarium filled with lobsters who were still alive, in contrast to all other animals in that place.
Nowadays I feel pity seeing those creatures, waiting to be taken and boiled. How would they feel. Would they know they could be next in line to be taken?
The illustration depicts 'nostalgia' for me, and how your worldview changes as you grow older. Sometimes I would just want to be that kid again who believes those lobsters were there just for the show.
