In June 2024, I was selected to participate in the Talent Call by Blind Walls Gallery in Breda. As part of the program, four other creators and I were asked to each design a wall piece. At the end of June, we got two days to paint it at the Ploegendienst techno festival. In the weeks leading up to the event, we developed our concepts and designs.
Inspired by the central theme of “synergy between nature and music,” I was drawn to the festival’s surroundings. The event revolves around a central lake, which became the foundation of my concept. I wanted to merge the element of water with my personal sense of joy—both in being in water and drifting away to intense, immersive music.

I began to wonder: what would an underwater stage look like at the heart of the festival? What if music were being played for the underwater ecosystem as well? That question became the guiding idea in my design process. I aimed to reflect the fluidity of water and sought to create a dynamic image with a clear sense of flow.
