At the end of the master course animation, at St.Joost in Den Bosch, I produced a short film titled 'IPIG'. The film addressed the topic of xenotransplantation, the use of animals to grow human organs.
During the process the question arose 'how am I going to tell this story', 'what should be the approach, the message, the ambiance'. Eventually a film arose based in a hallucinative science fiction fever dream. Where it is not clear if this is an actual reality or an imaginative rain of thoughts.
The goal, to address the urgency of the subject. To communicate a subject which raises complex ethical questions about life itself. The result, a poetical and disturbingly uncanny film where you could ask the question, 'is this something we want?'
